![]() Heritage Chevrolet Donates to Nursing ClinicSamantha Pearl, Executive Director of Community HealthCare Connections, recently accepted a check for $568 from Tim Kool of Heritage Chevrolet. As part of their ongoing community support, Heritage Chevrolet designated the Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek as the recipient of April's non-profit collection. The Nursing Clinic, a free clinic for uninsured and low-income residents, recently moved to the third floor of the Toeller Building in downtown Battle Creek. Community HealthCare Connections is the umbrella organization overseeing both the Nursing Clinic and the Calhoun Health Plan. Free Care for the Uninsured(December 17, 2009) During the busy cold and flu season, residents have a place to turn for free, urgent, non-emergency medical care. "We know that the economy is presenting challenges for many in our community," said Samantha Pearl, executive director of Community HealthCare Connections. "The Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek is open and ready to serve those who have lost a job, are uninsured or are struggling financially to make ends meet." To read full text, click here.

Foundation Investment (December 7, 2009) One is not greater than two in traditional math equations, but in the case of Community HealthCare Connections one is the greatest number of all. With a recently announced grant of $225,000 from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Community HealthCare Connections can continue the work of merging the Calhoun Health Plan and the Nursing Clinic of Battle Creek into one umbrella organization in one location. “We have done extensive evaluation and work already around the mission and goals of the organizations,” said Executive Director Samantha Pearl, “now we have the means to fully bring the organizations together by bringing them under one roof.” For full text, please click here. |
